Use Music To Set The Mood & More

Contributed By: Caregiver Rob

Yes, music is entertaining...and so much more. We have all turned to a tune to deal with frustration, liven a get-together, enhance a relationship and make a boring drive more fun. When caring for seniors, familiar music can help motivate movement, create stronger bonds, bring back fond memories and/or lead to fabulous conversations. For those with a form of dementia, a comforting melody can reduce agitation, relieve anxiety and decrease depression.

Nothing soothes the soul like music. That adage will be tested with comforting daily routines being turned upside down by the Covid-19 crisis. I have my guitar and am ready to take on that challenge.
